Hello!

It is a dreary day here in Salt Lake City. There is a chance of snow in the forecast. Snow! It is well into spring. We shouldn’t have to be dealing with snow anymore. But, enough whining.

New Steps

I’m officially a paid writer! I got my earning statement from Medium for the month of March. I made… 6 cents. Yeah, made me giggle, too. But hey, it’s a start.

I am still working on my submission for the Cryptids Emerging open call from Improbable Press. The deadline is coming up at the end of the month, and there is still a lot of work to be done. Luckily the piece is less than 5000 words, so the editing passes are pretty quick.

The Breakdown

Unfortunately, this week I do not have a new book to tell you about. I’ve been a little busy with other stuff. See below.

Living Life

So, I alluded to this in my last check in, and now, I can give you the skinny.

I gave notice to my 9-to-5 (well technically 7:30-to-4:30) last Friday, and as of the time I am writing this, I don’t have another job lined up. I have applied but haven’t heard anything from anyone yet. SCARY STUFF. And, not only that, but I am also moving… out of state. Halfway across the country in fact, to Knoxville, TN.

Now why, you may ask, would a relatively intelligent, mature human being do this? Why take the risk? The short answer is, I couldn’t not do it. I wasn’t forced. The relocation was my idea. The location was negotiable. But I had to get out of Salt Lake. Out of the city, out of my job, and out of this environment. It was killing me.

I have been keeping a diary of sorts about this process, which I will be posting in installments starting next week in addition to my regular check in’s. I go in detail as to my reasons in that series, so stay tuned.

I’ll keep it short and sweet this time around.

As always, I hope everyone is doing well. If you feel so inclined, check out my social media and head over to Medium.com for exclusive content.

Hello! Okay, short and sweet. Mostly because I feel the need to get something up, which has to do with my intentions for the year, which...
